"Simply a perfect affair"
What do diet and environmental experts say today? One should eat regional, seasonal food. This is also a strong case for preserving foods.
In former times, for economic reasons, people did this as a matter of course. This process was also called “Einwecken” named after Johann Carl Weck who bought the patent for preservation pots in 1895. These pots are heated in a water bath and their temperature is carefully monitored.
Our small "Eikochtopp" is also involved with heat and preservation, especially when it comes to good incense and Frankincense cones. It is ingenious too. When an incense cone has burned out, this stainless steel-finished pot gives out a “click”.
Also there are two adjustments for burning out without a click. However, to do this, there is the need for extra caution while burning. The pot is placed on a ceramic base which securely stands on three legs. The lid is removeable and can be used separately. Of course, everything should stand on a fire-proof surface because one should certainly not overlook the heat generated by our good "Karzle" (cones).
